Appeal – Application for leave to appeal in criminal cases – High Court – Uniform Rule of Court 49A
The Appellant must apply for leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Appeal or the Full Bench of the relevant Court against his / her conviction and / or sentence handed down by the Judge.
If he / she is out of time an application for condonation of the late filing must be made.
In the Application the Appellant must indicate that there are reasonable prospects of success and that another Court may come to a different finding on the grounds that the Court misdirected itself.
