Urgent application – Magistrates’ Court – Magistrates’ Court Rule 55(5)(a)
In urgent applications the court may dispense with the forms and service provided for in the Magistrates’ Court Rules and may dispose of such matter at such time and place and in such manner and in accordance with such procedure, which shall as far as practicable be in terms of the rules, as it deems fit.
Such application must be supported by an affidavit which sets out explicitly the circumstances which the applicant avers render the matter urgent and the reasons why the applicant claims that he or she could not be accorded substantial redress at a hearing in due course.
